While some lenses may be worn for a month of continuous wear, others are meant to be taken out daily. To protect your eyes from serious complications, it is important that you follow the wearing schedule that your doctor recommends and do not overwear your lenses. Most prescriptions are available now in single use contacts that require no at-home care.
Lenses are made of various materials which require different replacement schedules for optimal performance. Our doctors will recommend the lens, wearing schedule, and replacement schedule that is best for your eyes. Reusing old lenses can be harmful and damage your eyes.
It is important to wash and rinse and then dry your hands with a lint-free cloth each time you handle your lenses. Do not insert a lens into a red, irritated or painful eye. Instead, contact us immediately before continuing contact lens use.
Daily disposables are simply thrown away after each use. However, if you wear lenses that you take out and reuse, they should be cleaned and disinfected after each use to help them stay clean, comfortable and safe.
Contact Lens Evaluation Cost
We charge $40 when you have your exam here. If you go elsewhere, be cautious and ask for pricing. We have heard of some charging $140 or more for the evaluation.
